What is the ALTRUSA CLUB OF DAYTON?

 

We are the local chapter of the international service organization, Altrusa International, whose mission is literacy.

Our members are professional men and women who assist our community with hands-on projects and financial support through grants and scholarships.

The size of our club (30 members) allows for active member participation in leadership, committees and club decision making.

We are committed to the changing needs of our community, as well as, development of membership, encouraging fellowship, cooperation, and maximizing member talents.

Our Dayton club was established in 1917 and our past activities are recorded in a historical archive collection is preserved at Wright State University’s Archive Library.

Our current members reflect the following careers:

  • Education and Literacy
  • Engineering
  • Health Care and Medicine
  • Banking, Finance, and Insurance
  • Federal and Local Government Agencies
  • Social Work
