Civitan’s purpose is to provide members opportunities for personal and professional development while improving the world through community service.
Civitan's motto is “Builders of Good Citizenship.”
There are approximately 55,000 men, women, and young people in nearly 1,800 Civitan and Junior Civitan clubs worldwide.
Civitan’s Candy Box Project funds the Civitan International Research Center, a center for research and treatment of mental retardation and other developmental disabilities (MR/DD).
The Civitan Candy Box is serviced solely by volunteers, allowing 100% of net proceeds to go towards helping people who are mentally and physically handicapped.
